At Shifuku-ji Temple, the sharpest recent alarm came on May 10, 2026 at about 8:30 in Tomiya, when a black bear about 1 meter long was seen on a walking trail in Shiki no Mori inside the prefectural forest. On the same day at around 15:30, another bear about 50 centimeters long was spotted in Sendai Shimo Ayashi along Prefectural Route 55, showing that bears are still moving through roads and trails close to where people travel.
