On 2026-08-04 shortly before 18:00, one bear was sighted on a city road in Nanka, Kitami, Hokkaido. A couple cycling saw it about 50 meters ahead as it came out of the mountains onto the road. The bear returned into the mountains after noticing the bicycle.
