Just after noon on the 9th, a man in his 40s spotted three bears believed to be a parent and two cubs (one about 1.5 m, two about 50 cm) near the foot of a bridge on a city road in Maruko, Fukushima. The bears moved into a residential area to the north and have not been seen since; no injuries or property damage have been reported. Police and Fukushima City conducted patrols and warned residents and the nearby high school.
