The bear fled toward the forested area to the south, and its subsequent movements are unknown.

On Thursday, May 7 at approximately 7:40 a.m., in the Kyowa area of Minato-machi, Aizuwakamatsu City, a witness who was inside a building spotted one bear (about 70 cm in body length) on the mountain on the west side across the road. The bear walked toward the mountaintop, and its subsequent movements are unknown.
