While working in the fields, someone sighted a bear running through a rice paddy (one bear, approximately 1 m in body length).

At around 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, a witness (male, in his 60s) observed one bear (approximately 1 m in body length) running across a rice field in the Higashikubo area of Katahira Town, Koriyama City. The bear then left toward the mountain to the northwest.

Around 13:15 on the 6th, a man resting in his vehicle spotted one bear in a cemetery in Katahira-machi, Kōriyama, Fukushima Prefecture. The bear later went back into the mountain, no damage has been reported, and police are patrolling by cruiser and advising residents to be cautious.
