At around 17:50 on the 7th, a bear about 1 meter long was sighted in a rice field in Ōdate City, Junisho Ohhira, Akita Prefecture by a man driving nearby. The Ōdate police said the nearest house was about 200 meters away and patrolled the area by patrol car, warning residents.
