A single bear entered a shed on the grounds of an vacant house in Daigo, Hiraka-cho, Yokote and was spotted in the morning. The city set up a box trap, then around midday used anesthetic darts (blowpipe) to immobilize and capture the bear, which was subsequently euthanized (reported as a male about 1.3 m long, 113 kg).
