On March 27 in Inawashiro Town, Fukushima Prefecture, separate bear sightings were reported. At about 10:45 a.m., a single bear about 1.0 m long was seen in a rice field in Yamagata; at about 6:00 p.m., two bears about 60 cm long were seen on and at the base of a chestnut tree in a residential property in Mitsuwa.
