Around 16:40 on the 4th, a woman in her 40s from Katagami City saw a bear about 1 meter long crossing a municipal road in Tennō Oiwake-nishi. The bear was about 5 meters from a private house; multiple sightings were reported in the area and the Gojōme police station has urged residents to be cautious.

[Post] Found footprints on the snow. There were both large and small footprints, believed to be a mother and cub. Early in the morning, after foraging among the crops in the field, it climbed over the wall and headed east.

At around 08:10 on the 10th, a school staff member inside the building at Tenno Midori Gakuen, a special support school in Tenno Oiwake-nishi, Katagami, Akita Prefecture, spotted a bear approximately 50 cm long on the school grounds. The Gojome Police alerted related agencies and conducted patrols and public warnings by patrol car, calling on residents to be cautious.
