Around 3:45 p.m. on November 20, in the Daihata area of Shin-Yashiki, Aizu-Misato Town, a witness in their 70s (a man) saw a bear about 50 cm long in the bushes while driving a vehicle. The bear's subsequent movements are unknown.

On November 17 a bear was sighted near a care welfare facility parking lot about 100 meters from Niitsuru Elementary School in Aizumisato Town. The town and police remain on alert; on the 18th parents accompanied students to school and authorities are considering capture with traps.
