At around 10:40 on November 12, a female staff member reported a cub near the convent entrance of Sendai Shirayuri Gakuen Junior & Senior High School in Izumi-ku, Sendai. The cub entered the school grounds, briefly remained there, and by about 11:15 the number had increased to 2–3 before they left for nearby forest; no injuries were reported.

At around 09:20 on the 12th, a single cub was sighted in a parking lot near the Miyagi University main building in Gakuen, Taiwa Town, Miyagi. About 15 minutes later the same individual was seen near the Miyagi Prefectural Library in Murasakiyama 1-chome, Izumi Ward, Sendai; there were no injuries or damage to buildings.

Just after 9:00 on the 7th, one bear (about 70–80 cm, believed to be a cub) was sighted in the parking lot of the Miyagi Prefectural Library in Izumi Ward, Sendai. After being reported, the bear ran into the woodland near Miyagi University; no injuries have been reported.
