On March 24 at about 18:20, two bears believed to be a parent and cub were sighted near the Joto Kotsu Yuzawa taxi office in Yuzawa-nishi, Morioka, and reported to authorities. On the morning of March 25 at about 10:15, a cub was also sighted near the south entrance of the Kitayama Tunnel in Ueda, Morioka; officers remained on alert. No damage was reported.
