Encountered bear when hiking. The bear ran towards hiker at 800-400m but hiker was able to continue on track due to bush foliage when line of sight to bear was lost as it ran towards the track

Around 16:00 on August 30, 2025, on the Daisetsuzan traverse trail near the Takanegahara junction toward Chubetsu-dake in Daisetsuzan National Park, a brown bear approached hikers; the hikers sprayed bear deterrent spray and reported the incident.
