Around 02:00 on December 8, 2025, one bear-like animal about 1 meter long was sighted in Okamotocho, Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture. A passing driver noticed it and reported it to the city; the sighting occurred east of the Meishin Expressway in a residential area.
