On 2025-12-05, sightings of a bear-like animal were reported in Kizugawa City, Kyoto Prefecture: around 06:20 in Shiroyamadai 12-chome (south side of the woods by the Kizushiroyamadai 11-chome bus stop) and around 17:00 near Komorebi Park in Kizugawadai 8-chome. The city requests that residents report sightings to the municipal agricultural policy division.
