Around 09:30 on the 9th, a bear cub was sighted on the grounds of Iide Junior High School in Tsubaki, Iide Town, Yamagata. The cub, estimated at about 50 cm long, ran back to the mountains via the Tatenosawa No.1 embankment toward the western hills.

Just after 9:30 a.m. on the 9th, a teacher in class spotted a bear about 50 cm long on the school grounds of Iide Junior High School in Tsubaki, Iide Town, Yamagata Prefecture. The bear fled toward the western mountains and about an hour later was seen running toward the town baseball field; the town and police are urging caution.

Around 11:00 on November 24, 2025, one bear was sighted on a persimmon tree in Tsubaki, Iide Town, Yamagata Prefecture. The site is about 200 meters southwest of the Nishi-Okitama Administrative Association Fire Department Iide branch; the bear repeatedly climbed down and up the persimmon tree, emergency shooting was considered for a time, but the bear later went missing.
