At around 06:00 on November 15, 2025, a single bear cub under about 1 meter in length was sighted south of Sanbongi Junior High School in Nishi-13bancho, Towada City. It was reported to have moved westward from a road near a garbage collection point; the city and Towada Police are patrolling the area and urging residents to be cautious.
