At around 10:25 a.m. on April 27, 2026, a bear about 70 cm long was seen crossing a town road in Hakusan, Rokugo, Misato Town, Akita Prefecture, witnessed by a man from Yokote City driving a car. The site was about 250 meters from Rokugo Elementary School; the Daisen police station notified relevant agencies and is patrolling the area with police cars and warning residents.
