On Sunday, June 28 at around 6:30 p.m., on the north-side walkway of Iizaka Cemetery in Hirano, Iizaka-machi, Fukushima City, a witness (male, in his 40s) spotted three bears approaching from the opposite direction while he was walking west. One bear (A) was about 1 m in body length, and the other two (B and C) were about 50 cm each.

Around 13:30 on April 1, a woman in her 50s spotted a single bear about 1.5 meters long on the riverbank embankment in Iizaka-machi Hirano, Fukushima City. The bear ran south along the embankment; no human or property damage has been reported. Police are patrolling the area by patrol car and advising residents to be cautious.

Around 05:00 on the 12th in Nakanoda Nakamae, Iizaka, Fukushima City, a woman in her 40s driving saw one bear (about 1 meter long) crossing the road from south to north. The bear moved into a field; no injuries or property damage were reported, and the police informed Fukushima City and are conducting patrols in the area.
