The bear was estimated at about 1.5–2.0 meters in length; there were no injuries, but footprints believed to be from a brown bear were found nearby. Police are patrolling the area and advising residents to be cautious.

Around 22:20 on November 25, a man in his 60s driving near the Maruyama Park baseball field in Miyagaoka, Sapporo's Chuo Ward, saw a single bear about 80 cm long crossing the road northward and reported it to the police. There was no collision, injury, or damage, and police patrolled the area but found no traces.
