While driving from Kamo-Aosa toward Funakawa, I saw a bear approximately 1.0 m long in the roadside grass on the seaward side while waiting at a roadwork traffic signal. It left heading west (toward the sea).

While gathering wild plants, I found a young bear about 80 cm long approximately 3 meters behind me. When I called out, the bear ran away. Its direction of travel is unknown.
