Around 18:30 on February 27, a male driver spotted an Asiatic black bear (approx. 1.2 m long) along Route 311 in Kuki-cho, Owase City. The bear appeared from the left side of the road, fled toward the mountain when noticed, was reported to the city, which issued warnings via disaster radio and its website and used fireworks and signs to scare it away.
