At about 08:47 on October 27, 2025, two workers were attacked and suffered injuries to their hands and feet by a cub bear about 100 cm long in woodland approximately 900 m east of the Tanaoka community hall in Oshima Ward, Joetsu City. The city and police are conducting patrols.
