At around 07:50 on Nov 22, a man in his 70s who worked at a clinic in Ippasaka Masaka, Kurihara City, encountered two bears (believed to be a mother and cub) on the clinic grounds; the mother reportedly scratched his right cheek and right arm. The man was conscious and taken to hospital. Two bears were seen at the scene and later left.

Around 07:30 on November 22, 2025, a parent and cub appeared in front of the staff entrance at Ichihasama Elementary School in Kurihara City, Miyagi Prefecture. About 20 minutes later, a man in his 70s was attacked and injured by a bear in the parking lot of a clinic roughly 400 meters away.
