On April 28, 2026, fresh black bear scratch marks were found on rocks and trees along the Daisen Falls walking track in Daisen, showing recent bear use right on a hiking route. The next strongest fresh sign in the area came with a bear sighting on April 27 along the China Nature Trail in Daisen Tono, about 900 m from the Kawadoko trailhead.
