Mount Myōkō saw a black bear on April 24, 2026 in Shinano Kashiwabara, where an adult was reported. On April 20, 2026, another bear in Myoko 大字坂口新田 moved along a nearby block fence and fled into the woods, and the same day a bear tried to cross National Route 18 from the west before turning back into the mountains.
The busiest ground has been around Shinano Nojiri, Shinano Kashiwabara, and Myoko, with repeated reports also coming from Sekigawa and Shinano 土橋.
