Kyotango's latest bear report came on April 29, 2026 at Kyōga misaki Lighthouse, where 1 black bear crossed the road from east to west near the bend after the highway turn, and it was described as more than 100 cm in body size. Earlier reports also came from Shimotsuneyoshi in Omiya cho, Kabutoyama Elementary School in Kanzaki, Kumihama, and Seki, Kumihama Town, showing bears moving through both roadside and neighborhood edges.
