On Friday, June 12 at around 7:00 a.m., in Yamaguchi Aza Tsubakidaira area, Minamiaizu Town, Minamiaizu District, a witness (male in his 80s) observed one bear (approximately 50 cm in body length) climbing a tree by the roadside. The witness continued on without intervening, and the bear’s subsequent whereabouts are unknown.

On Thursday, June 11 at around 2:00 p.m., in Murashimo, Yamaguchi, Minamiaizu Town, a witness (male in his 60s) observed one bear (about 50 cm in body length) climbing a tree in the forest. The bear noticed the witness and ran off toward the deeper part of the woods.
