The witness continued on without intervening, and the bear’s subsequent whereabouts are unknown.

On Thursday, June 11 at around 2:00 p.m., in Murashimo, Yamaguchi, Minamiaizu Town, a witness (male in his 60s) observed one bear (about 50 cm in body length) climbing a tree in the forest. The bear noticed the witness and ran off toward the deeper part of the woods.
