On Saturday, May 16 at around 1:30 p.m., in woodland in the Nishiteyama area of Homa, Aizu-Misato Town, a witness (male, in his 70s) observed one bear (about 1 m in body length) climbing up the hillside while driving. The subsequent movements of the bear are unknown.

At about 09:45 on the 7th, a man in his 40s spotted a single bear approximately 50 cm long on the grounds of the management building at Seseragi Green Park in Ietō, Aizumisato Town. The bear ran northeast and its whereabouts are unknown; no human injuries were reported. Police have urged local residents to remain vigilant.
