On Thursday, April 9 at around 6:30 a.m., in a rice field in Murahigashi, Takadota, Toyokawa-machi, Kitakata City, a witness (female in her 50s) observed one bear (approximately 1 m in body length) moving westward through the rice field while she was at home. The bear’s subsequent whereabouts are unknown.

Around 1:33 AM on October 11, on a road in Kitakata City, Koshakami area, a witness viewing live security camera footage observed a bear about 1.5 m moving south on the west side of the road. A police officer at the scene also observed another bear about 50 cm on the south side of a private residence. The two bears joined, but their whereabouts afterward are unknown.
