On November 14 in the afternoon, a single adult bear was spotted on the grounds of Narakawa Elementary and Junior High School in Kiso-Hirasawa, Shiojiri, and moved toward the Narai River. On November 10 the school's corridor windows were damaged by a bear; police and city officials are patrolling the area, warning residents, and the school has suspended outdoor activities and asked parents to accompany students to and from school.

At around 10:00 on the 11th, two bears were sighted in the forest west of Naragawa Nursery in Kisohirasawa, Shiojiri. Police searched the area but did not find the bears or any damage; on the 10th, footprints and a broken window believed to be from a bear were found at the nearby Naragawa Elementary and Junior High School.

Residents reported sighting two bears near the Hashido Ichirizuka area in Kiso-Hirasawa, Shiojiri City, on the morning of the 11th. Police and a hunters' association responded but the bears had already left and were not found; across the river are Naragawa Nursery and Naragawa Elementary and Junior High School, where police are urging residents to be cautious.

At around 08:00 on November 10, 2025, at Narakawa Elementary and Junior High School in Kiso-Hirasawa, Shiojiri, Nagano, an aluminum window frame and screen on a corridor were found damaged; claw marks and paw prints believed to be from a bear were found on the screen and adjacent glass, and footprints were seen nearby. There are 82 students, no injuries were reported, and the police and local hunters are patrolling the area.
