On May 9, 2026, multiple bear sightings were reported in Masuda City, Shimane Prefecture: at around 09:30 one bear was seen near a road in Tsuda-cho, at around 16:00 one bear was observed moving from the Enta kindergarten side toward Yasuda Elementary School at the crosswalk in Enta-cho, and at around 19:10 one bear was seen heading into the mountains near the Kanagatoge community center in Katsurahira-cho.
