At around 06:00 on November 7, 2025, a student doing morning practice spotted a bear about 1 meter long on the road near the Kaishi International High School grounds in Nagahashi, Tainai. The bear ran off and no students or staff were injured. Shibata Police and Tainai City have warned nearby residents to be cautious.
