Around 15:50 on the 4th, a schoolchild returning home spotted one bear cub on the road in Nagatecho, Ota City, Gunma Prefecture. The child was uninjured; after a cub carcass and another sighting were found in the city, the municipality canceled a planned mikan-picking event for nursery children.

Around 15:50 on December 4, 2025, a single bear cub was sighted about 700 meters from the entrance of the prefectural facility 'Gunma Kodomo no Kuni' in Nagetecho, Ota City, Gunma. No damage or injuries were confirmed inside the facility, and it was temporarily closed from December 5 to ensure safety.
