On November 8, 2025, sightings of a bear-like animal were reported in Kizugawa City, including the Kamo-cho Onoyama area (about 400 m upstream of the Akada River floodgate). Observers reported an individual descending from the left-bank embankment toward the river and additional sightings in Kizugawadai 8-chome and the Kaseyama area.
