Around 17:05 on December 9, 2025, a report was made that an adult bear was in a persimmon tree within the grounds of a residence in Nagasaka, Higashiyama, Ichinoseki. Police officers arrived, used firecrackers to drive the bear away, and no damage was reported.

Around 20:55 on December 2, an adult bear (about 150 cm long) ate apples inside a garage on the grounds of a private residence in Nagasaka Kubo, Higashiyama-cho, Ichinoseki City, Iwate Prefecture. No people were harmed, and the bear has already fled to the eastern forest.
