The bear headed west into the nearby forest, no injuries have been reported, and police are patrolling the area and issuing cautions.

Around 19:00 on the 9th, a bear about 1 meter long was sighted on the road in Minamiyoshinari 6-chome, Aoba Ward, Sendai, and around 22:00 the same day a bear about 60 cm long was sighted in Tsurugaoka 1-chome, Izumi Ward. There were no injuries or damage in either case; police patrolled the area and urged residents not to approach and to contact the police or municipal office.
