The bear moved eastward, was about 20 meters from the nearest building, and the Akita Rinko Police are patrolling the area by patrol car and warning residents.

The bear moved north, about 1 km from the nearest house; the witness said the bear appeared to have an injured front paw, and the Akita Central Police contacted relevant agencies and are monitoring the area.

It ran off toward the northeast canal side and its subsequent whereabouts are unknown. It was dragging its right leg.
