Brown bears have been repeatedly sighted on the road near Tokyo University of Agriculture Okhotsk Campus (Ichiyasaka) in Abashiri. According to the city, there were four sightings over the three weeks up to November 6; the university has banned walking and cycling to campus and the city is patrolling twice daily.
