At around 06:50 on November 20, 2025, a single bear about 1.2 meters long was sighted on the grounds of the Fujiki Community Center in Fujiki, Daisen, Akita Prefecture by a staff member of the adjacent Fujiki Elementary School. The Daisen Police Station conducted patrol broadcasts by patrol car and urged residents to be cautious.
