Around 20:00 on December 3, 2025, a driver reported seeing the rear of a large bear-like animal in the grass and hearing a growl at the riverside of the Susobana River in Koshimami, Nagano City. Police responded but did not find the animal, and residents in the area were warned to be cautious.
