Around 2:38 p.m. on November 18, along the Aizu-Wakamatsu Urabandai Line near Mizuhara in Hibara, Kitashiobara Village, a police officer on patrol in a patrol car observed a bear about 50 cm long standing on the road's western slope. The bear then left north into the mountain forest.
