Around 11:00 on May 19, 2026, a teenage man riding a bicycle spotted a bear about 1 meter long on the premises of a business in Hirasawa Sakaida, Nikaho City, Akita Prefecture. According to the Yurihonjo Police, the nearest house is about 150 meters away and the police have warned residents to be cautious.
