One Asiatic black bear was captured on October 29 in the forest at Ikeba, Shinshiro City. On the morning of October 30, city staff patrolled the area and found no other bears or traces; the city continues to urge residents to remain vigilant.

On October 29, 2025 at around 08:00, a hunter found an adult male Asian black bear (total length 110 cm, estimated weight 65 kg) caught in a snare for sika deer in the forest at Ikeba, Shinshiro. City staff attended the scene, and because the trap wire risked coming loose, the bear was euthanized at about 15:10 by a member of the hunters' association.
