Around 14:50 on December 4, 2025, a junior high school girl spotted a bear-like animal about 1 meter long on a road near Nandai Park in Kasuga-cho 4-chome, Iwamizawa. She ran home and her guardian reported it to the police; officers found no tracks but warned residents that it could be a bear that has not entered hibernation.
