According to the Kitaakita police, the bear was about 5 meters from nearby houses, and the police have warned residents in the area.

Around 21:45 on the 25th, a bear about 50 cm long was spotted in the yard of a house in Ani Mizunashi, Kitaakita City by a woman in her 40s who was at home. The nearest elementary/middle school is about 400 meters away; police patrolled the area by patrol car and warned residents.
