On the afternoon of December 23, 2025, a passerby reported seeing two dark four-legged animals (about 1 meter in size) run into the brush on the right bank of the Toyohira River near Makomanai Park in Sapporo. Police patrolled the area but found no tracks or other traces; the witness said it was already dark and was not certain whether they were bears.
