May 26, 2025, around 10:00 AM: A citizen reported bear-like footprints in a field near Shimada-ike in Iya, Higashi Izumo Town. City staff and the Izumo Hunters Association investigated; footprints about 20 cm long, believed to be from one bear; body length unknown.
