Around 14:15 on November 8, a roughly 50 cm juvenile bear entered the JR East Shinjo depot in Tamonomachi, Shinjo City. The city and local hunters set a box trap and captured the bear around 16:00; there were no injuries. The Yamagata Shinkansen Tsubasa No.150 was suspended between Shinjo and Yamagata for one service.

At around 14:15 on the 8th, one bear entered the premises of JR Shinjo Station in Shinjo City, Yamagata Prefecture and remained inside a depot, according to a report from a JR employee to police. No injuries were reported; train services were affected — the Tsubasa 150 bound from Shinjo was suspended on part of its route and Tsubasa 137 was temporarily halted.
