At about 06:30 on December 28, 2025, a passerby spotted a single bear on the road north of JR Higashi-Sendai Station in Higashi-Sendai 1-chome, Miyagino Ward, Sendai; the bear disappeared to the west. It is unknown whether this is the same animal seen repeatedly since the 26th; no damage has been reported and the police have warned residents to be cautious.

Between the night of December 24 and the morning of December 25, multiple bear sightings were reported in the residential area of Higashi-Sendai, Miyagino Ward, Sendai. A bear was seen running west along the river near Haramachi 5-chome, close to the Miyagino Ward Office; no injuries or property damage have been confirmed, and police believe it is the same individual and are preparing capture measures.

Late on December 24, 2025, a bear about 2 meters long was spotted on a road near Tsubamezawa Park in Miyagino-ku, Sendai. The same-looking animal was subsequently seen in Higashi-Sendai 6-chome and entering a residential property in Higashi-Sendai 5-chome; no injuries were reported. The Sendai East Police Station of Miyagi Prefectural Police is patrolling the area by patrol car.
